🖼️ Exhibition Overview

Total imaging solution company Canon Korea (CEO Park Jung-woo, kr.canon) is holding the Canon Full-Frame Photo Contest Exhibition, titled "The Discovery of Korea," at the Canon Gallery until Thursday, June 18.

This exhibition is a spin-off project inspired by photographer Lim Jae-cheon’s photo exhibition "The Discovery of Korea." It was designed to share the diverse perspectives of Canon EOS R System full-frame camera users as they traveled across South Korea.

The exhibition features works that document the nature, landscapes, and daily lives of people remaining throughout Korea amidst a rapidly changing era. Visitors can experience a total of 28 winning and selected pieces that bring moments to life, focusing on the unique atmosphere of each location and the moments where people become part of the landscape.

For the 12 major winning works, "Artist Notes" containing the photographer's intent are displayed on the adjacent wall, allowing visitors to easily understand the meaning behind the place and the moment captured. In addition, postcards and posters made from the exhibited works will be distributed to visitors on a first-come, first-served basis, extending the exhibition experience into their daily lives.

Park Jung-woo, CEO of Canon Korea, stated: "This exhibition holds great significance as it shares the beauty of Korea captured through the eyes of Canon full-frame mirrorless camera users with the public. Canon Korea will continue to expand the horizons of photographic culture while multi-dimensionally supporting creators who preserve the inherent value of documentation through photography."

🤝 Awards Ceremony & Special Urban Exhibition

On Tuesday, May 26, Canon Korea held an awards ceremony for the contest, presenting winners with certificates and prizes, including RF lenses and photo printers.

Lim Jae-cheon, a documentary photographer who has recorded Korea's landscapes and people for the past 20 years, participated as a judge. Lim has been active as a "Canon Master" (Canon Korea's premier brand ambassador) for seven years starting from 2014, and continues his ambassadorship this year in 2026. For this contest, he carefully selected works that delicately unravel the relationship between people and their surroundings.

In addition to the gallery, the winning works can also be encountered in the heart of the city. The 12 major winning pieces are being displayed simultaneously on "Roadblock Yeoui 12," a mega-sized digital outdoor media strip located along the Olympic Expressway between Yeouido and Nory량진. The artwork is broadcasted through 12 consecutive LED screens installed across a 1.5km section, providing a special exhibition experience for the winners and offering citizens passing through the city a chance to appreciate the beauty of Korea in their daily lives.

The Canon Full-Frame Photo Exhibition "The Discovery of Korea" can be viewed at Canon Gallery (B1, Canon Plex, 217 Bongeunsa-ro, Gangnam-gu) until Thursday, June 18. Further details regarding the exhibition can be found on the official Canon Gallery website.
