Canon Korea (CEO Park Jung-woo, kr.canon), a total imaging solution enterprise that has maintained the No. 1 position in both global and domestic interchangeable-lens camera markets for 23 consecutive years, announced that it has successfully concluded the official screening and Guest Visit (GV) session of You and My Photo Therapy—a short film shot on the ‘EOS R6 V’—at the 30th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN).
Based on the synopsis, “Let’s tell the stories of our hearts with a camera. Let’s do our own photo therapy,” You and My Photo Therapy is a branded short film that delicately captures the fleeting moments of love and parting set against the backdrop of cherry blossom season. Choo Kyeong-yeob, director of the Korean Society of Cinematographers (CGK), helmed both the direction and cinematography, while actors Kim Min-ki and Shin Seh-wi delivered heartfelt performances as the lead roles.
The film was officially invited to the "Fantastic Shorts" section of the 30th BIFAN, hosting two separate screenings and GV sessions on Sunday, July 5, and Friday, July 10. The events allowed the crew to communicate directly with festival-goers through Q&A sessions, sharing their experiences on high-quality video production using the ‘EOS R6 V’. Director Choo Kyeong-yeob attended the GV session on July 5, and lead actor Kim Min-ki joined the July 10 session to engage with the audience, discussing behind-the-scenes production details, script interpretations, and visual expression techniques.
In this project, the ‘EOS R6 V’ highlighted its strengths as professional video production equipment by perfectly materializing the film's unique, lyrical mood and sensory visual aesthetics. As the first full-frame sensor model in the EOS R V series, the EOS R6 V boasts a high-performance approximately 32.5-megapixel CMOS sensor, Open Gate recording for highly flexible shooting and editing, 4K video recording based on approximately 7K oversampling, in-body 5-axis Image Stabilization (IS), and a built-in cooling fan. These features guarantee reliable, stable operation on set, proving that the R6 V is a highly capable video solution for cinema productions that demand sophisticated cinematic expression.
The official invitation and successful GV sessions at BIFAN are deeply meaningful, as they demonstrate how Canon Korea's video-centric mirrorless cameras are actively being integrated into professional filmmaking and highlighted through real creative experiences shared with audiences. Canon Korea continues to expand its brand touchpoints across the video production ecosystem, bridging the gap with creators ranging from traditional film sets to modern short-form content platforms.
Park Jung-woo, CEO of Canon Korea, expressed his gratitude: "It is incredibly meaningful that 'You and My Photo Therapy' was able to connect with audiences as an official selection of the 30th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, and that we could introduce the film's production process alongside the outstanding visual expression of the 'EOS R6 V' through these GV events. Canon Korea will continue to expand video solutions and brand experiences that bring the diverse visions of creators to life, growing hand-in-hand with the domestic video production ecosystem."
To celebrate the release of the ‘EOS R6 V’ short film You and My Photo Therapy, Canon Korea is hosting a dedicated exhibition of the same name at the Canon Gallery in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, running through Sunday, August 2. Visitors can watch the full short film screened at the festival, enjoy the music video for the OST "Cherry Blossoms Have Bloomed" (sung by lead actress Shin Seh-wi), explore a curated collection of behind-the-scenes photography, and get a hands-on look at the actual ‘EOS R6 V’ camera gear used during production.
