An international photographic exchange platform, designed to explore the latest trends in contemporary photography and expand global artistic networks, is set to open at Nodeul Island in Seoul.

Fujifilm Korea announced on June 17 that it will host the "4th Fujifilm Photo Festa 2026 - International" from June 20 to 28 at Nodeul Gallery Rooms 1 and 2 on Nodeul Island, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

Photo Festa is a global photographic culture event that introduces the outstanding works of photographers using Fujifilm cameras to the public through exhibitions and publications. Marking its fourth edition this year, the event has significantly strengthened its position as an international exchange platform by greatly expanding its partnerships with prestigious institutions, including the Singapore International Photography Festival (SIPF), Taiwan’s Hsin Tai Hsing Photography Bookstore, and The New York Times (NYT).

The main exhibition of the event is the winners' showcase, titled "In-Between." This exhibition focuses on the moments where scenes, human relationships, records, and emotions intersect, highlighting the unique sensory capabilities of the photographic medium. A total of 35 photographers selected through a rigorous evaluation by three authoritative judges will present their distinct artistic visions, including Lee Chan-hee, the grand prize winner in the Series category, and Hwang Jin-soo, the grand prize winner in the Single category. On June 26, the participating artists will share their creative processes and artistic philosophies during the "Photo Festa 2026 Winners' Talk."

The event also features a diverse lineup of special exhibitions and educational programs. In the global exchange exhibition "Outside of Each Other," works by eight rising international photographers recommended by four renowned curators—including Sang-suk Kang, Photo Editor at The New York Times, and Gwen Lee, Director of the Singapore International Photography Festival—will be on display. Notably, the showcase includes works by Saher Alghorra, the photojournalist who won the Pulitzer Prize for his coverage of the Gaza Strip, and Choi Yo-han, the recipient of the 1st Fujifilm Korea Global Mileage Award. Accompanying events on June 21 will feature special lectures by Director Gwen Lee on the formation and international expansion of photographic art platforms, and by CEO Wan-hsin Hsia on the past and present of Taiwanese photography.

Additionally, the exhibition will debut the winners of the newly introduced "Fujifilm Korea Photo Dummy Book Award 2026," showcasing 20 final selections chosen from 245 submissions. On June 26, Ji-soo Park, Editor-in-Chief of Vostok Magazine, will host a book talk exploring the significance of dummy books. Other highlights include the "A Thousand Cameras" exhibition, a documentary project dedicated to public interest archiving; the "2nd Seed Collection," which discovers early works of photography majors from 15 universities nationwide; and an artist talk by Gwon Oh-sang, a creator known for expanding the boundaries of the photographic medium.

"By comprehensively expanding our cooperation with the global photography community in the United States, Singapore, and Taiwan, we have established a truly international platform for exchange," an official from Fujifilm Korea stated. "This event will serve as a meaningful opportunity to showcase the contemporary potential of Korean photography to the world, while introducing the forefront of global photographic art to the domestic audience."
