[Nikon Imaging Korea Press Release: 2026-05-20]
Nikon Imaging Korea (CEO Chae-hwan Jung), an optical instrument specialist, announced on the 20th that it will host the 'Birdwatching Picnic' on June 20th at the Sejong National Arboretum—an experiential program designed to observe and record birds in nature—and is currently recruiting participants.
This event is organized to make birdwatching, which has recently emerged as a popular hobby and culture, more accessible and familiar to the public. Participants will have the opportunity to experience the joy of birdwatching and the charm of photography by observing and recording birds in their natural habitat using Nikon cameras and binoculars.
Notably, citizen scientist Hee-chan Yoon will participate as a guest speaker to deliver a lecture on birdwatching culture, the significance of bird observation, and essential tips for beginners. Following the lecture, participants will explore various areas of the Sejong National Arboretum, taking part in hands-on photography practice and a docent-led tour.
The Birdwatching Picnic seminar will begin at 10:00 AM on June 20th at the Sejong National Arboretum. Any customer interested in Nikon cameras, lenses, and binoculars can apply through the official website. In particular, this event allows applicants to bring along family members or friends. Nikon Imaging Korea will announce the 25 selected winners on June 10th via its website and individual notifications, and all participants will receive an official Nikon poncho rain jacket as a souvenir.
"This seminar is a highly informative program not only for those who are already interested in birdwatching but also for beginners who are just starting out with bird photography," said Ju-eun Lee, Marketing Manager at Nikon Imaging Korea. "We have prepared a wide range of programs, including hands-on bird photography practice, special lectures, and docent tours, so we look forward to your keen interest and active participation."
Meanwhile, following its participation in the Gochang Tidal Flat Big Bird Race and the Asian Bird Fair, as well as hosting the bird photo exhibition and seminar 'The Small Daily Lives of Birds' last March, Nikon Imaging Korea is actively expanding its efforts to establish a proper and healthy birdwatching culture.
