- Streamlined to 'Series' & 'Single Image': The former 'Professional' competition is now renamed 'Series' to emphasize visual storytelling, while the former 'Open' competition is now 'Single Image' to celebrate the power of a standalone frame.
- Cross-Entry Permitted: Photographers are now permitted to submit different bodies of work across both the Series and Single Image competitions simultaneously.
- Four Core Competitions: The awards feature four pillars: ▲Series (10 categories) ▲Single Image (10 categories) ▲Youth (under 19 years old) ▲Student (for photography students worldwide, themed 'Journeys').
2. Introducing 'Histories' and 'Animal Portraits' Categories
- 'Histories' (Series Competition): Invites documentary and conceptual projects exploring how personal, cultural, and community histories shape modern society, welcoming creative re-interpretations of archives and past narratives.
- 'Animal Portraits' (Single Image Competition): Celebrates the vitality, character, and beauty of the animal kingdom, spanning pets, wildlife, marine life, reptiles, and insects.
3. Korea National Awards: Alpha 7R VI for 1st Place
- Automatic Consideration for Series Entrants: Korean citizens submitting to the Series competition are automatically entered into the Korea National Awards without separate application procedures.
