- Submissions open until June 26; Winning works to be exhibited at the DongGang Photography Museum

Hankook Fujifilm Co., Ltd. announced its participation as an official sponsor of the '2026 DongGang International Photo Festival,' Korea's premier photographic art festival, for the fifth consecutive year.
At this year's event, Hankook Fujifilm will officially sponsor the 'National Elementary School Photo Diary Contest.' The initiative aims to support the younger generation—the digital-native Alpha Gen—in experiencing the charm of analog photo printing and the value of keeping physical records.
Marking its 24th anniversary this year, the DongGang International Photo Festival is a major photographic event hosted and organized by Yeongwol-gun, the DongGang Photo Village Steering Committee, and the Yeongwol Culture and Tourism Foundation. The festival will run from July 17 to October 11 across Yeongwol-gun, including the DongGang Photography Museum. The official opening ceremony will take place on July 24 at 7:00 PM at the museum's outdoor plaza.
In particular, this year's contest is designed to intertwine with the historical and cultural characteristics of Yeongwol. Reflecting the recent box-office popularity of Cheongryeongpo—the exile site of King Danjong, the 6th ruler of the Joseon Dynasty—as the main backdrop for the movie The Man Who Lives with the King, the contest organizers will award bonus points to submissions that include photos related to King Danjong. This strategy encourages young participants to naturally document the history and culture of Yeongwol through their lenses.
The contest is open to elementary school students and homeschooling children nationwide. Participants are required to print a photo they took themselves, paste it onto a designated sheet, and write a handwritten diary entry of up to 10 lines. Submissions are accepted via mail or email, with the deadline set for June 26. The winners will be announced on July 2nd, and the award ceremony will be held on-site during the opening ceremony on July 24. The winning pieces will be on display at the outdoor gallery of the DongGang Photography Museum starting July 17.
Prizes will be awarded to approximately 60 recipients. The Grand Prize winner will receive a certificate, 500,000 KRW in prize money, and an 'Instax SQ40' instant camera. Other winners (First Prize, Second Prize, and Honorable Mentions) will receive various prizes utilizing Hankook Fujifilm’s product infrastructure, such as the Instax Mini 12, QuickSnap disposable film cameras, and vouchers for Fujifilm photobooks and photo prints.
"This contest was designed to give children, who are highly accustomed to digital environments, a hands-on opportunity to experience the value of analog printing and handwritten records," an official from Hankook Fujifilm stated. "As a leading company representing photographic culture, we will continue to engage in diverse corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities to contribute to the development of domestic photographic art and the preservation of recording culture."
