Total imaging solution company Canon Korea (CEO Jung-woo Park, kr.canon) won the Excellence Award at the "38th Korea Labor-Management Cooperation Awards" hosted by the Korea Enterprises Federation (KEF).
The ceremony, held on the 14th at the Four Seasons Hotel in Jongno-gu, Seoul, was attended by key figures including Jeong-hyun Kim, Head of the Management Support Division at Canon Korea; Do-hyun Woo, Head of the Canon Korea Labor Union; Young-hoon Kim, Minister of Employment and Labor; Kyung-shik Sohn, Chairman of the KEF; Dong-myeong Kim, President of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions (FKTU); and Ji-hyung Kim, Chairman of the Economic, Social, and Labor Council.
The KEF established and operates the Korea Labor-Management Cooperation Awards to break away from adversarial labor relations practices, enhance corporate competitiveness, and establish a cooperative labor-management model that contributes to national economic growth. Every year, winners are selected through a fair and objective evaluation across six categories: labor-management cooperation and welfare, promotion and success of productivity enhancement campaigns, human resource development efforts and achievements, industrial disaster prevention, national and social contributions, and the CEO's management philosophy and practice.
Canon Korea received high marks for maintaining a mature labor-management relationship as a "dispute-free workplace," having experienced not a single strike or dispute since the establishment of its labor union. In particular, the main factors behind the award were the breakdown of barriers between labor and management and the realization of practical work environment innovations by activating constant communication channels. These include the 'Together TFT,' which listens to and improves frontline employees' grievances in real time, and the 'Junior Board,' which drives horizontal communication centered around the MZ generation.
Efforts to change the overall organizational culture were also noteworthy. The company has objectively proven its excellent corporate culture by earning major government certifications, including the 'Excellent Workplace Innovation Company' in 2024, the 'Excellent Labor-Management Culture Company' in 2025, and the 'Family-Friendly Company' certification.
Jung-woo Park, CEO of Canon Korea, said, "This award is the fruit of labor and management respecting each other as business partners and working together to grow. Moving forward, based on our corporate philosophy of 'Kyosei' (Symbiosis), Canon Korea will continue to create a healthy workplace where everyone can work happily and strive for sustainable development."
By winning this Excellence Award, Canon Korea has proven that a cooperative labor-management culture is a core driver for strengthening corporate competitiveness. Taking this opportunity, the company plans to boost employees' pride and strengthen a mutually beneficial labor-management model based on mutual trust to spread a positive labor-management culture across the industry.
